As many of you may already know we have been busy with two large events, The Kent Construction Expo and The South East Construction Expo. It was refreshing to be back at face-to-face events, and we loved speaking to everyone who stopped by our stands. We especially enjoyed reading your construction horror stories! If you didn’t already know, our stand featured a ‘Wall of Shame, which gave people a chance to write and attach their biggest constructor complaint.

Not only was this a bit of fun but we were able to use these confessions to learn more about what kind of service you expect when hiring a construction company. Below we have listed some of the common answers.

Bad communication

Communication (or lack of) came up a lot and we aren’t surprised; contractors have a bad reputation when it comes to communicating with their clients. For this reason, it has always been a primary focus of Clarity’s working practice to keep lines of communication open and clear for our clients.

We believe effective communication is imperative to smooth building projects. We speak with our clients and contractors frequently basis to ensure that everyone is up to date on the project’s development. Everyone involved in each project has secure access to FONN to track the development of the project, so you’ll never be in the dark and always have access to the details you need.

Being let down

This was another popular response; at Clarity Homes and Commercial, we will always be straightforward with you. We understand that construction projects don’t always go as planned, especially when problems develop. However, we will be upfront and honest about whether we believe the project will work from the outset. If something unexpected happens that we could not have predicted, we will explain why and how it will affect you, and when appropriate, we will discuss potential solutions with you so that you are pleased with the result.

Inaccurate Budgets

We understand that construction work can be stressful and costly, which is why at Clarity Homes and Commercial, we provide itemised costings for every project so you can be confident that the price we quote is the price you will pay. If complications do arise, we will be sure to discuss any additional costings with you before we start the work.

Although delays in a project are sometimes unavoidable, we understand the frustration that comes with them, especially when a deadline is approaching, which is why we do everything we can to make construction work as organised and pain-free as possible for our clients. We are adept in forward planning to avoid supply problems and we use state-of-the-art technology to keep our projects on schedule and our staff will always show up on time to complete the work.

We loved hearing all your construction horror stories, knowing what kind of service you expect when working with a construction company is vital in the process of making Clarity Homes and Commercial the best it can be. Thank you to everyone who contributed!
